Graduation Day

What a fantastic date it was. Georgios, after finishing his PhD studies mid-2016, had his graduation ceremony at the stunning building of Lincoln Cathedral in the city of Lincoln in the UK. Great pleasure to receive my PhD degree directly from the Vice Chancellor of the University and also meet my supervisor, mentor and Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University of Lincoln, professor Andrew Hunter. After the ceremony, I had the opportunity to meet many other academics from the school of computer science and the college of science, with whom I am going to closely cooperate in the near future, as I will be joining the permanent academic staff of the school of computer as a lecturer. Having spent more than half a year working as a Lead Data Scientist and Program Manager in a leading company in Radiation Oncology solutions in Germany, I am definitely ready to go back to academia. Undoubtedly, Marie Curie actions were paramount in shaping my career, alongside the unique experiences and training I received. I am definitely looking forward to meeting my new colleagues and face new challenges.
