During the ASDM 2014 (Advanced Statistics and Data Mining) summer school I gave a talk about the REVAMMAD project and my contribution to the project. The presentation was attended by both academics (Stockholm University, Lyon University, INRIA among many) as well as people from industry (e.g. Cisco). During my presentation I concentrated on the Data Warehouse (which we called “Invariant”) and how it can be useful to people not only in research but also in industry.
After the talk I got approached by many people which recognized Invariant as a possible solution to their problems. The ability to aggregate data from multiple heterogenous sources and run a pipeline of computations on them was very appealing to people. Regardless of their field of interest all of them are struggling with managing multiple datasets and performing efficient analysis of their data. Data warehouse is a system explicitly designed to tackle these issues.
What suprised me most is that not only academics saw the potential in this project but also people from industry.I managed to establish many new contacts that I hope will prove useful in the future.
